Fullcount's latest limited-edition model brings the brand's classic 11.5oz Ecru Selvedge Denim into one of the most recognisable vintage denim silhouettes: the WWII-era “Great War” jean. Inspired by the simplified construction of wartime production, this wide straight model strips things back while retaining the distinctive details that make the period so fascinating. The tonal stitching keeps the overall appearance clean and understated, allowing the natural colour of the denim to take centre stage while making the jeans particularly easy to wear.
Despite the pared-back aesthetic, the details are anything but generic. Fullcount has produced new iron donut buttons featuring an original laurel motif, paired with unbranded punched rivets and carefully considered stitching dimensions across the front waistband and fly area, all referencing the material restrictions and simplified construction associated with WWII-era jeans. Rather than deliberately reproducing the often crude sewing seen on surviving wartime garments, Fullcount has opted for precise, robust stitching with deliberately tightened thread tension to accentuate the natural puckering that develops along the seams.
