Designed to capture the intricate graphic work of Liam Alvy, this tenugui is made using the historic “Oka” fabric (#30) - a textile known for its fine weave and refined texture. Oka fabrics have been cherished since the Edo period, once favored by Daimyo (feudal lords) and Oiran (courtesans) for its elegance and sophistication. It became widely used during the Sumptuary Laws era, when silk clothing was restricted, leading to an increased demand for high-quality cotton textiles.
