This 12.5oz. Selvedge is woven from long-staple African cotton, a fibre choice that gives the denim a notably supple and fluid hand while retaining enough body and structure to wear well as a jacket. The color is where the fabric becomes particularly interesting. A blend of natural brown cotton is worked into the construction to reproduce what Japan Blue call "old-fashioned blue," referencing the specific shade of indigo that existed in the early 1900s before synthetic indigo was developed and standardized the color. The result is a warmer, slightly earthier indigo tone than you would find on a modern denim, with a depth that comes from the natural cotton blend rather than any post-treatment.
