These jeans are insane.
The color looks absolutely amazing.
The shortening of the jeans worked without any problems and very well.
But, what you shouldn't forget is that +40% arrive, plus shipping and duties and taxes.
My jeans cost 200$ and I still paid 92$ in taxes on them.
Although, in my case, I had to say that the jeans are absolutely worth the extra cost.

Great jeans!! Very slubby and fits great, glad I was able to get a pair in my size before it was sold out. Can't wait to see the fade on this pair but this might be a long way to go since texas summer is not kind to anyone

really unique color and fabric texture. i've been wearing these jeans just under a couple of weeks and already see the variations in color and fades begin to come through, even moreso in the sunlight.
takes a bit of effort to break in and mold to one's form and perhaps doesn't stretch out as much as other similar fabric weights, but the high tapered fit is pretty good overall giving room up top. i would have preferred a larger leg opening -though can feel a bit constricting at first.

The high tapered fit remains undefeated. The sapphire slub denim is irregular without being uncomfortably rough and the color is gorgeous, on top of quick to fade. Very glad I got in on the last run of these!

I love the colour and the weight of this denim, they are very stiff but look like they will whisker up very well. The build quality is excellent. The cut is a bit weird however. I’m 177cm tall and 82kg and bought a 36 which was just right around the waist, but there is a lot of ballooning material on the hips and thighs and I had to take them to the tailor to pull in the seams. They look and feel great now.

Absolutely love these jeans! Wasn't expecting the starchiness compared to my other OD's that were similar, but was pleasantly surprised with this higher tension fabric. They have great slub texture, with a classic denim starchy stiffness. It didn't take long for them to become comfortable to wear, so I can honestly say that after a typical 26K step day, they were not exhausting. I would recommend getting one size larger than normal, if you prefer to cold water soak them before wearing, as they may shrink a bit more than preferred. I've ordered a larger size just in case, because I didn't soak these before wearing them and they're an exact fit as-is (I'm not sure how they'll fit after a soak). The sapphire shows beautifully through the warp in sunlight, and the weft is extremely vibrant, which is clearly evident when "cuffed". I received lots of positive comments from others on their first voyage. I'm hopeful that the fades will be epic!! I definitely appreciate the attention to detail that OD puts into their denim creations! Thank you!

When I saw that the Sapphire slubs were making a final appearance, I had to pick up a pair. I routinely wear the Kaijin and the Siderite slubs, so I knew the size, weight, and the taper work really well for me. The sapphire blue is just something else, so rich, deep, and beautiful, I am so glad I was able to buy it before it sold out.
As with all the OD+ jeans I have purchased in the past, the value for the money is fantastic. I ordered on tuesday and it arrived in San Diego on Friday.

This pair is high waisted so plan your sizing accordingly. Truly a beautiful pair overall and of course the main draw to getting it is that unique fabric created especially for Okayama Denim. Overall the quality is well made and it seems to only get better with age and fading. Well worth it if you can even buy them at all since most of the time they're fully sold out.

Great fit, enough room in the top block (thighs, crotch, posterior) for comfortable movement. However, the selling point is of course the collaborative indigo by OD and Japan Blue, which is awesome. If you missed the run of this collab this year, make sure to get in on it next year.

Texture and weight are things that take some getting use to. This is the first pair of jean I have purchased at this heavy of a weight. They are pretty stiff and will take some breaking in, which I am already accustomed to. If you are not use to that break in process, these could be a challenge for you. The texture is different than any other pair of jeans I have as well. It will be interesting to see how these fade over the next several wears. They are easy to wear never the less.

This fabric is ridiculous! The quality is amazing. Every small detail is perfect! Customer service and the shipping was also great and fast too. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because my ONLY complaint is about the pocket opening dimensions. The front pockets have a fairly narrow opening, which means to get your hands into them is almost a task. Also the back pockets it’s more difficult to get your wallet in and out also. That one doesn’t bother me as much as the front pockets, I put my phone in my pocket a lot and always carry a pocketknife too, so not being able to use those pockets as much is kind of a bummer :(
