Bengara is traditionally referred to as "soil dyeing", reflecting its natural origins. As a natural material, it can eventually return to the earth, while the dyeing process itself produces a character that feels considerably more organic than a conventional solid colour. The resulting earthy red has a gentle, subdued quality, with the natural variations in the dye giving the fabric plenty of personality.
