The Studio D'Artisan Hand-dyed "Kakishibu-zome" Aloha Shirt brings the natural character of traditional Japanese persimmon dyeing to a textured cotton-linen canvas. The fabric has the distinctive dry, slightly crisp hand associated with a cotton-linen blend, providing an excellent foundation for the deep, earthy character of Kakishibu.

Rather than pursuing a perfectly uniform colour, the shirt is hand-dyed to emphasise the natural variations and irregularities created by the process. The resulting unevenness gives the fabric considerable depth and individuality, with each piece developing its own subtle character.

Finished with traditional nut buttons, the shirt combines a straightforward workwear design with one of Japan's oldest natural dyeing techniques. The result is a rugged, tactile piece that wears its craftsmanship quite openly, allowing the natural strength and character of Kakishibu-zome to take centre stage.
