Yesterday saw the launch of our collaboration Natural Kakishibu Dyed Vintage Jacquard Knit Crewneck Sweatshirt. Firstly, let us thank everyone that showed us love for this project. We're excited to continue exploring garment dyeing projects in our ongoing collaboration series with the purveyors of Japan's "Best Knitwear"!
For those of you who missed out on an opportunity to snag one of the collaboration sweatshirts, here's a little consolation. Featured in a variety of colors and at a more reasonable price point (as they are sans Natural Kakishibu dyed), Loop & Wefts Vintage Jacquard Knit Crewneck Sweatshirts have just landed.
Just like the collaboration model, the sweatshirts feature a proprietary Jacquard Knit developed by L&W for F/W '20. The fabric's contrasting jacquard weave is made possible by customizing a French Terry knitting machine, of which only two exist in Japan. The Loopback Fabric that is produced by the machine manages to be both breathable and ultra warm, while also featuring sweat absorbing qualities. This makes a Loopback garment in general much more functional and wearable for a longer duration through multiple seasons, as opposed to Loopwheel sweatshirts, which are generally only reserved for winter.
All the feature points of a classic sweatshirt are present in the LRC1068 version pictured above, including the V-gusset and ribbed neckline, cuffs and hem.
For those of you looking for something a little different, the LRC1067 model of the sweatshirt featured above packs all the great details of the other version, sans V-gusset.
A Union Special 4-needle flat seamer machine commands all the seam construction, while a 2-needle machine is responsible for attaching the ribbed material to the garment.
