We just received our first shipment from several pieces of the A/W '14 Collection from Momotaro Jeans. The Momotaro brand has come a very long way from 2006 when they first launched, and the biggest developments and progression in the shirting collection has been without a doubt, fit. Fit has constantly been updated, and while we are never afraid to admit and point out to producers when certain garments fit awkwardly or different from what the international market is used to, these shirts fit exactly how we want them to. Not too short in the sleeve or body, and slim in the torso without hugging the body. Smart looking collars in the Oxford style, and with a wide enough collar to button up all the way. These great fitting shirts are all cut from Collect Mill fabric, and constructed in Momotaro's factory by skilled craftsmen.
Our first and favorite of the bunch, is the Momotaro Indigo Check Work Shirt. The colors just pop perfectly with a great fit to match, gingham and check prints in general are a dime a dozen in today's fashion world, but finding a pattern as beautifully simple as this one will be hard.
Oversized buttons are used to compliment the CPO silhouette of the shirt.
The Peach Camo motif developed by the Momotaro brand has been reintroduced in a darker shade this year. Seen last year on the Momotaro Peach Camo Shorts, this version is applied to this classic Oxford cut. The Momotaro Dark Peach Camo Shirt will be your go to shirt for the Winter.
The Momotaro Original Peach Camo Shirt speaks a little louder than its darker cousin, but probably a better choice for combining with a pair of dark indigo jeans.
Finally, the Momotaro 8oz. Selvedge Cuff Pentagon Shirt is going to be in heavy rotation in the winter month outfits. Subtle, but so classy with the Selvedge inner cuff details and the Pentagon shaped chest pocket, this shirt is a favorite from Momotaro this year.
