Gratitude. Gratefulness. Humility.
感謝 (Kansha, or gratitude in Japanese) was selected as our ethos or theme, to commemorate our 10 year anniversary. A concept deeply rooted in Japanese culture, if the pandemic has taught us anything as a global community, it is that mental peace can only come as a result of gratitude. Being grateful for what you already have.
The first of the two kanji characters for “Kansha”, is 感 (Kan, or emotion) and the second kanji is 謝 (Sha, or thankful). The combination creates the English equivalent of gratitude.
Ten years in, we’re still here. And we’re here for one reason. As sappy as it sounds, that reason is YOU. You guys have shown love & support for this crazy little idea we had a decade ago, to share our passion for some esoteric Japanese threads with the world. Having been able to have a blast for the past ten years, and to continue doing what we love everyday, we have no reason not to feel Kansha, or gratitude. We know we’re lucky to be in the position we’re in, and try never to take it for granted.
