We've been waiting on this one for a while, and we cannot stress enough how stoked we are that we can finally introduce it in full.
SDA's proprietary "Kasezome" Indigo Selvedge Sashiko has always been one of those special fabrics that we have seen come through our doors. Back in 2019, we introduced a collaborative 6-Panel Hat
featuring this fabric in its raw state. This piece was originally meant to be a part of that 40th Anniversary OD+SDA collection, but production delays had other plans in store for us.
Realizing just how incredible this fabric both looked and felt was the spark for a new project, and after much discussion and deliberation, all eyes were directed to producing a Bomber Jacket with the Osaka OGs.
Kasezome is the art of skein dyeing, a hand dyeing method by wrapping undyed yarns into a loose coil and dipping them into a vat of Indigo (in this instance). The yarns are dyed to the core while still retaining their original texture, a feat only possible when the yarns are meticulously dyed by hand.
Blending functionality with aesthetics was key for this project, the first being two-way metal zippers with the addition of leather pull tabs.
Rayon-lined hand warmer pockets add a well needed touch of the luxurious for the wearer.
In fact, lining the whole jacket with a Rayon lining normally reserved for use in Sukajan (Souvenir Jackets) was a no-brainer. Featured inside is a single inner pocket bearing SDA's ethos tab, featured on many of their garments.
Acrylic ribbed cuffs add that extra layer of elasticity to truly conform to your dimensions
So subtle yet a detail we could not pass on - featured is the Selvedge locker-style loop.
Model on the left is wearing a size 38. He weighs 59kg (130 pounds) and is 178cm (5’11”) tall. Model on the right is wearing a size 42. He weighs 79kg (174 pounds) and is 185cm (6'0") tall.
